Medical Camps and Tours

BHDI organises an annual expedition for doctors, healthcare professionals and volunteers to travel to rural Bangladesh to deliver medical relief camps, healthcare training and other life skills training. As well as carrying out worthy, charitable field work our volunteers get to sample the warm hospitality, food, culture and awe-inspiring greenery and nature Bangladesh has to offer. For some it also provides an opportunity to connect with their roots, discover their heritage and give back.

The BHDI delivers free medical camps to the most needy in Bangladesh. Every year we have a team of medical doctors and other professionals who tour the country to deliver relief camps free of charge. If you would like to join one of our tours or would like to sponsor a specific camp in an area in Bangladesh that needs it most, please get in touch with us on [email protected]

BHDI Medical Camps - 2021

Due to the ongoing Covid pandemic and the worldwide travel restrictions, we have reluctantly decided not to hold a medical tour this year. This is for the safety of our doctors, staff and volunteers both in the UK and Bangladesh, as well the patients. We will resume our medical tours in 2023 (when we will conduct another assessment of the situation). In the mean time we have decided to support a local team (Donate for Good) in Bangladesh to provide their own medical tour, across a number of cities, providing patient care, medication and health advisory services. Please see a list of locations planned and those to be confirmed:

  • Medical Camp 1 :  Barapata (TBC)
  • Medical Camp 2 : Khulna (TBC)
  • Medical Camp 3 : Noakhali (TBC)
  • Medical Camp 4 : Sirajgonj (TBC)
  • Medical Camp 5 : Kurigram or Thakurgoan (TBC)
